AFC Announcements

We have gone through some growing pains as we shifted our webinar host from the U.S. Navy to the Canadian Armed Forces. To help you in participating in our webinars, we have developed a Windows Media tutorial. To access this video directly, click here. An alternative is to view the tutorial on YouTube.

October Webinar: Tuesday, 28 October at 1300 EDST (1000 PDST)
Topic: Integrated Leadership and Performance Improvement in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police
Presenters: Inspector Wayne Gallant, Royal Canadian Mounted Police and William Pullen, CPT

Wayne and Willy delivered a Master’s Series presentation with Roger Chevalier at the 2007 ISPI annual conference in San Francisco to rave reviews. Several Armed Forces Chapter members requested that we have them give an update on the RCMP’s unique use of human performance technology to produce measurable results. They will discuss how the program is evolving and being blended with their leadership initiatives.

Future Webinars:
Dr. Jim Pershing, CPT of Indiana University and the editor of the third edition of the Handbook of Human Performance Technology will deliver a webinar entitled, “Designing Questionnaires for Evaluation” on 10 December 2008 at 1:00 PM EST.
Dr. Ken Silber, CPT and Lynn Kearney, CPT are penciled in for January. More information to follow.

A very special thanks goes to Deborah Stone, CPT and Steven Villachica, CPT, PhD for presenting our September webinar, “10 Ways to Better Blended Learning for Knowledge Workers Presenters”.

Membership: We have grown to over 200 members and are the largest ISPI Chapter. Thank you all for your continued support.

In addition to the discount that Armed Forces Chapter members receive for the annual Performance Improvement Conference, we will now receive a $50 discount off the ISPI member rates for the Fall Conference and for Public Institutes as well as the ISPI member rates for other events such as the Workshops and SkillCasts. To receive these discounts, contact Keith Pew, ISPI Director of Marketing and Sales at keithp@ispi.org or 301 587 8570, ext 111.
